Remember when Michael was one of the top three actors being sought out to be in the remake of Total Recall, and it was him and, Colin Farrell as the two Irish actors who would star? Well, thankfully the makers didn't want Michael, and settled for Colin, and look what they have, a Total Redud, coming in 2nd place at the box office, allowing The Dark Knight Rises to have it's third week on top (my review). Not only is the movie horrendous, but there's nothing new and exciting from the 1990 remake, and the box office is in a slump as the Olympics are in high gear. This is one role we can be happy that Michael didn't get. Colin should stick to indie films where he uses his sexy Irish accent.
In otherwise quite Fassy news, I'm sure by now you all heard that it has been confirmed that there will be a Prometheus 2 which will continue on where Prometheus left off with the remaining 1 1/2 survivors, Elizabeth and David. I hope that for the sake of jokes about the film, that somehow, with David's instructions, Dr. Shaw can reattach David's head. How can she track down and quiz the shit out of the Engineers and be taken seriously by carrying David's head around in a bag? I'm sure they'll figure something out, they got two years to make this. Oh, and speaking of Prometheus, yesterday I went to the bookstore to look at the August W issue firsthand, and let me just say, I wasn't impressed enough with the photo shoot design to buy the magazine. Sure, Fassy's on the cover, but all this deep blue disco glow vibe just didn't excite me. Charlize looked unrecognizable, Michael and his beauty was all but hidden. The entire photo shoot was just a complete failure to me, and that's no fault of Michael or Charlize, they just followed the directions of the photographer. You have to be a poor photographer and photo shoot editor/director to take two of the most attractive people on the planet and give them the appeal of half cooked oatmeal. Next time W wants to use Michael with a female co-star, use the photographer and borrow the lights used in the photo shoot with Mia in promoting Jane Eyre a year ago. Sheesh! Also, the book store did not have the Irish American issue, I would have bought it, but since I will have to endeavor to look for it, this too I shall pass up, especially in light of the fact that the "interview" features significantly recycled answers, why bother really? So those are two different magazine covers of Michael that I'm going to take a pass on this month.
Meanwhile, Michael is currently filming Ridley Scott's 'The Counselor' in London. For a film that is based in the US along the Mexican border, I'm wondering at what point and time are they actually coming to the States to film convincing outside scenes which will look like the Southwest in the States.
