It's been an exciting week in Fassbender news. Michael sure knows how to stay busy and out of sight for over a month, and when he wants to be seen, he's out and about, and very happy: TIFF soiree announcement, and a paparazzi friendly full-eye view terrace dinner date with Ridley Scott and friends; all within 48-hours! As I've stated many times before, when Michael Fassbender is happy, there is no doubt he is happy and 110% comfortable with the company he is with. He doesn't look constipated from some bad nachos, or upset about being rejected for a film role, or annoyed with the paparazzi. Wednesday night in London, he looked in top form and pleased to see the paparazzi because they were allowed within 5 feet of him, in oppose to them in recent times needing to use a long-lens camera similar to an African safari hunt! That is so good for the soul, we all need to be with people we love and enjoy hanging out with. Michael has such a busy and hectic life of filming back to back films (the envy of so many actors), but that can wear a person down. After all, he's human like the rest of us.

With that all said, I would like to confirm with you all that yes, I will attend the TIFF Soiree to see Michael speak about his career. I'll buy the ticket next Tuesday when it goes on sale to the public. I do not have $350 just laying about, especially after spending nearly $5k on my family trip to London/Paris. Finances are pathetically tight, but when I think about people who don't have homes, a daily meal, or fresh water to drink, it puts things into perspective and my life is that of a millionaire compared to them. And for me to even consider paying $350 to see my favorite movie star talk about his fantastic life, well, I guess that doesn't make me so poor after all eh? But, I'm also a working class girl in the planning stages of making a huge life change of moving to Los Angeles, and my savings for this endeavor has taken a beating in also planning my Euro trip. Mind, I still have to pay rent (I live alone), car note, student loans, and various utilities and bills, all by myself.

I'm in the quandary of if I don't go, I will regret it for the rest of my life. Why bother being the Editor of the Fassinating Fassbender brand if I can't dive head in first on such an incredibly unique event to see Michael Fassbender being honored with a full-hour conversation, and have cocktails with the audience afterwards? I should go to represent Fassinating Fassbender, report on the event to my fellow fans, and be content as a huge fan of this amazing actor. In the past, when a surprise mini-tour of Pearl Jam was announced, the Jamily (PJ fans) go insane with happiness, but also become stressed out because not everyone has the money right at that moment to a) buy tickets, b) book hotel, c) book airfare, and d) request time off from work (if you have allotted vacation/sick time available). So fans express happiness on the PJ forum, but also whine about not having enough funds at that very moment. One time, the PJ band manager told everyone that they love the fans and appreciate their long-time support of the band and understand the fan's financial dilemmas. He also stated that they KNOW and were confident that we would "sort it out and see the greatest band on the planet". In the end, everyone who bitched and moaned about their money situation, scraped the money together in time to buy the tickets, and saw the greatest band on the planet. I was one of those fans, and I'm in the same situation now for Fassbender, and I will sort this out.

xoxo
