I don't know about you guys, but to me, something is off in regards to my interest in this Malick film that Fassy is currently filming down in Austin, TX. Unlike all his other films that have been announced and throughout the filming productions, we knew a relative amount of information about what the film is about, the TITLE of the film, the type of character Michael is playing... you know, the usual stuff. But according to IndieWire, all everyone seems to know is the film follows two intersecting love triangles and is a story of sexual obsession and betrayal set against Austin's vibrant and colorful music scene. Ok... wow. Is Fassy going to get his sex on again ala Shame?
Also, a lot of people are aware of Malick's fondness for cutting people out of his films, but I really think it's very safe to say that Michael will be a strong feature in the film. Now, he may not be a pivotal character, and he is not the lead, but I think based on the images we have seen of him filming, he is with the other key characters of the film, so, one can assume Michael will be in a great portion of the film. But yet... there is just something lacking this time around: my interest in this project. I feel a disconnect of interest to the film. The blond Natalie Portman looks odd and forced, and I am very lukewarm to Rooney Mara, I just completely fail to see her appeal (even though I did see her version of 'Dragon Tattoo' a few weeks back), and I like Ryan Gosling when he's playing weird guys - it just seems natural for him - and I don't know if his character is 'weird' in this one or not. I dunno, I just hate this lingering feeling that this may not jive with me. Am I the only one feeling this way?
But oh well, I'll still take Fassy anyway I can get him, and I'm sure you agree with me.

Hey Simone,
Love your site! I'm a big fassy fan and saw him today filming with Natalie portman outside my local grocer here in Austin. Wish I could have gotten a pic but the production assts were asking us to get out of the camera's field of vision. They were filming Michael and natalie getting into a red Maserati. I was less than 100 feet away. Can't believe it i was so close and yet so far. anyway, thought i'd share the sighting with you.
One more thing...in case it's of interest. They were filming at this restaurant: http://www.astiaustin.com/
and next door there's a grocer called Fresh Plus. When I saw them, they were filming in the lot next to Fresh Plus. My friend who called to let me know they were there saw them coming in and out of Asti, too.
